Is Phelps the Greatest?
Ever since Michael Phelps became the greatest Olympian of all time, talk has swirled to this question: Is Phelps the Greatest? No one knows. It's an interesting debate, to say the least. What do I think? I'm not sure. I'm old enough to see some of the greats, but too young to see the majority of them. The problem is, who do we compare him too? They only natural comparison is Mark Spitz. But that's it. It's impossible to compare swimming to basketball, Michael Phelps to Michael Jordan. Sure, Michael Phelps is the greatest swimmer of all time. No doubt. But is he the greatest athlete of all time? I don't know. I wish I did. But, I know this: We'll be debating this for the rest of time.
