Offseason Plans-Brewers
Next up is everyone's darling, the Brewers. Let's see what they'll do.
BREWERS OFFSEASON PLANS:
Who will they bring back?: Thanks CC. Hopefully we didn't ruin your arm. Gagne, enjoy your 10 mil. Bye-bye Salomon Torres. Ray Durham could be back, as a nice veteran influence. Craig Counsell should be gone. Mike Cameron is interesting. He's been good. But 10 mil is a lot of money. Just look at Gagne, Eric. Tough one. Ben Sheets has been great. He should test the market, though.
Who will they get?: Pitching, pitching, pitching. I'd like to see Derek Lowe and Jon Garland. Maybe K-Rod to solidify the back end? (Just an aside: I think you can mention every team with K-Rod, with exception to the Yankees, Red Sox, Twins, and White Sox. He's fair game beyond that.) Relievers, like Brandon Lyon, Jeremy Affeldt and Joe Biemel will be targeted. If Cameron is gone than maybe a chance on Rocco Baldelli.
Projected '09 Rotation:
Gallardo
Garland
Bush
Parra
Suppan
Projected '09 Lineup:
Kendall, C
Fielder, 1B (There's been a lot of rumor of him on the trading block. Don't believe it. Fielder is a mainstay of this team)
Weeks, 2B ( His job is getting closer to being gone every day. He could be on the block, perhaps for pitching)
Hardy, SS
Hall, 3B
Braun, LF
Cameron, CF
Hart, LF
Other Acquisitions/ Relievers
Brandon Lyon, RP
Jeremy Affeldt, RP
Are they the Rockies of '08? Time will tell. Next up is the Cubs.
