Monitoring Tennessee
We wrote the other day about the Tennessee Head Coach Search. And we mentioned Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach as a possible replacement for Phil Fulmer. Add this name to the list: Turner Gill, Head Coach at SUNY Buffalo. They are tied for second in the MAC. He could be a good fit. But we here think that Mike Leach is a better fit. Think about it: Texas Tech is coming off their best season ever, and could play in a national championship game. Mike Leach has never been more in demand. That helps recruiting. Two, Tennessee needs something different; they don't have Peyton Manning anymore. A spread offense, different from Florida's, but much more effective is a big change. No one can stop Texas Tech. Put that team in the SEC, and I think they succeed. That's my feeling. Mike Leach might like it in Lubbock, and Lubbock is a different place than Rocky Top. But I say they make a run at him, throw all the money in the world for him. He'll be worth it.

Turner Gill would make an excellent choice. Great background. If he can recruit players from all over the United States to play for him at the University of Buffalo, just think what he could do at UT.
