I’m Baaack!
Well, after a week of rest and relaxation, I'm back to the blogosphere. And what a week it was. Not my vacation, mind you (although that was quite nice). But what a week in sports and politics. Rather than one long post, I'm going to recap the week that was.
I think the saddest news of the week was the passing of Steve McNair. The Former MVP QB was shot and killed. We wrote about it here. It's just so sad. 36. A whole life in front of him. Shot. Gone. Dead. Can't fathom it.
On a lighter note, NBA and NHL Free agency commenced. You can see recaps of the deals for the NHL here. I'll mention one note about the Marion Hossa, 12 year extravagant deal. That will be the albatross of the Chicago franchise, that was just starting to turn it around. 12 years is too long. In the NBA, we saw Ron Artest saying he'll join the Lakers, while Trevor Ariza will join the Rockets. In this 'trade', the Lakers win. Artest is a better player. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. It'll be interesting to see.
In more NBA news, Hedo Turkoglu spurned Portland to sign with Toronto. He didn't actually sign with Portland, but told them he would sign with them. Bad, bad form.
And in political news, Sarah Palin resigned. I can ask only one question: Why?
I'll be going into the topics in more depth in our first ever video podcast, which will debut tomorrow. I like podcasts, but can't seem to put them into the blog. I'm good with iMovie, so I'll upload it to YouTube, and put it here. Can you feel the excitement? I sure can. Happy Fourth of July, everybody.
