Why Roddick Vs Federer Got Me Interested in Tennis
Yesterday, I was traveling home from vacation. Usually, this is a sad occasion. Who wants to leave a beautiful island? However, this departure wasn't as sad. It gave me a chance to watch the Andy Roddick Roger Federer Wimbeldon Final. Now, I couldn't really watch it. I had to follow it from my phone. It wasn't terrible. I could get updates. But I couldn't watch the riveting back and forth. I could only know when a set was won. But, it didn't have the same feel. I wanted to be watching it, feeling it, living it. I didn't want to follow it on my phone. I wanted to be cheering in front of TV. I couldn't. It was the first time that tennis had me riveted. It was the first time that I wanted to watch tennis. I needed to be watching it. And I couldn't. Maybe this instant classic has finally got me involved in a great sport. I know that when the next major comes around, I'll be watching.
