Jays Set Halladay Deadline for July 28th
The Blue Jays are setting a July 28th deadline for trading ace Roy Halladay.
"At this point, it's probably unlikely that we'll trade Doc,"(GM JP) Ricciardi said Tuesday
I'm surprised, quite honestly, that the Jays are limiting their options by setting this deadline before the actual trade deadline. Yes, the price for him will be steep. But, you have to take advantage of him being the crown jewel of the trade market. You might not get this chance again. The Jays need something for Halladay. He can bring a lot of value, and as we saw with the Johan Santana trade, you don't get as much value in the offseason. Make the deal now. It's better for Roy, and better for the team.
