RIP Ted Kennedy
This post was found originally in Beltway Blues, my political blog
Awful, awful news today. Senator Ted Kennedy died today. Everyone knew he was sick, but no one expected him to die. No one expected him to die before health care reform was passed. No one expected him to die so suddenly. He was the lion of the Senate. Because of him, we have better medical care, better schools. He was a true advocate for the little man, and used his fame correctly. You know, we’re all saddened when someone dies. But when someone of his magnitude dies, you have to take a step back. You have to take a step back and reflect, on all that he’s done, on all that he’s accomplished, and on all that he’s done for us. Ted Kennedy was not my senator. But, today, he’s everyone’s senator. Rest in Peace, Mr. Kennedy. The world is a better place because of you, and the world is worse off now that you are gone.
