Big Mac Is Back
Interesting news out of St. Louis. Tony La Russa is coming back, and he's bringing a familiar face with him: Mark McGwire. Big Mac will serve as the hitting coach. For awhile, it seemed like McGwire would never return to baseball. It sure looks like he won't enter the Hall of Fame. (Side note: If I had a Hall of Fame vote, I would vote for McGwire. I know he took illegal supplements, but he was so instrumental in bringing the game back from the brink. He's a Hall of Famer in my book). It'll be interesting to see how the media handles McGwire, how the fans handle him. Will they be appreciative of his years in St. Louis? Or will they boo him? Hard to tell. Either way, it's great to see Big Mac back in the game. He deserves it.
