My Friend Is Gonna Be A Star
My friend Max is an unbelievable musician. He's a star in his making. He had a show tonight, and he absolutely killed it. Absolutely killed it. His YouTube page is here. His MySpace page is here.
Here are some videos from tonight. Not the greatest quality, but you get the picture. Enjoy
Thanks for returning to The Blog of Champions!Justin Timberlake Can Sure Sing
Yeah, he was good in NSYNC, but Justin Timberlake has shown how talented he is after leaving the band. This performance was in the Hope For Haiti Now benefit concert. Watch, and enjoy (then buy the song on iTunes, 'cause profits go to Haiti)
Tom Morello and Bruce Springsteen Are Awesome Together
The 25th anniversary of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert was Sunday on HBO. It was tremendous. The highlight of the night, for me, was Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello playing The Ghost of Tom Joad. Take a look:
First off, I like how they slowed it down and mellowed it out. Second of all, Tom Morello can absolutely shred. Unbelievable solo. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
John Mayer Can Sure Rock
I bought John Mayer's new album--Battle Studies--with much excitement. After all, his last album, Continuum, was spectacular. Well, I listened to Battle Studies, eager to hear the genius. First time through, didn't hear it. Second time? Didn't hear it. But, for some reason, I kept coming back. I kept listening to songs such as "Perfectly Lonely", "Assassin", "Who Says", and much more. And as it turns out, I love this album. Is it as good as Continuum? No. Not many albums will be. But John Mayer delivered again.
Here's Mayer with Jay-Z. It's pure gold.

John Sterling and Bruce Springsteen Make Beautiful Music
John Sterling is synonymous with Yankee fans. He is the radio voice of the Yankees, known for his exuberance, missed calls, and "The Yankees win! Theeee Yankees win!" scream. So, maybe only Yankee fans can appreciate this. But here is a clip of Bruce Springsteen and Sterling making beautiful music. Enjoy
My Friend Is Big Time
If you consider big time MySpace. Any way, my good buddy Max is a talented musician. He set up a profile on MySpace. Check it out. You won't be sorry.
Kanye West is an Idiot
The VMA awards were last night. I didn't watch it. But, my phone was abuzz with text messages saying: "Did you see Kayne at the VMAs? He's an idiot!" So I did a little research and found the clip. They're below. Basically, Kanye West took the microphone from Taylor Swift, who won an award, and said she wasn't deserving, that Beyonce was. Beyonce, who won later, brought Taylor Swift back onto the stage, in a classy move. The two complete opposite ends of the spectrum. In one night. Amazing. West was idiotic for what he did. It's the wrong forum. It should've never been said. But it was. And he'll have to deal with it.
I Have No Idea How They Did This, But It’s Very Cool
The Black Eyed Peas were on Oprah, celebrating her 24th season. They performed a song in front of thousands of fans. This is what happened:
That is beyond cool. To get 21,000 fans dancing simultaneously is just awesome.
If Only I Could Sing Like This
I'm a shower singer. Every day in the shower, I pick a different tune, and I sing my heart out. I have no idea if I'm good. I've never sang in public, save for a one line solo in a 5th grade rendition of Hello Dolly (I played Barnaby, so I had to be somewhat good). Anyway, the song below is a song I sing frequently. It's called "Death of Me" by Tony Lucca. The dude can flat out belt it. If I could sing like he could, I might be singing more in public. But, don't get your hopes up: I ain't that good, and I'll probably never sing in public. Enjoy the video:
This Guy Knows How to Audition
Heard of Danyl Johnson? You will. Johnson audition for England's X Factor, an American Idol type show. Johnson auditioned, and let's just say, this guy did okay:
He had the crowd with him, he has a great voice. It was like a preacher captivating an audience. Unbelievable. Incredible. Well done.
